Product Brief: FurSight is a application designed for pet loss prevention and discovery. In the event that a pet is lost, users have the option between Plans A & B. Plan A is the highest priority call to action, here users can send pre-made flyers across all messaging platforms, including social media sites. Plan B is the lowest priority protocol—here FurSight helps users troubleshoot unique, customized solutions based upon their pet's behavior and history. Both plans can be enacted from the tap of a button, no call lists, google searches or social media apps needed. Other primary functions include pet tracking abilities, such as zoned perimeter warnings.
Secondary Functions: FurSight also allows users to explore Heroism in different ways. They have the option to photograph & report stray animals that they feel may be a lost pet. Users can also track neighboring lost pets & tally saves within the Community Page.
Project Origins:I completed the half of the research and conceptualization for a course, whilst earning my MS in Human Computer Interaction. I finish the remaining visuals, prototyping and user testing rounds as independent creative.
Why does the UI matter?

Pain Point #1
The emotional shock of losing a pet can be overwhelming, making it difficult for users to focus on critical details and solutions.
Key Solution

Users can sound the alarm from this button.
This single pathway enables them trigger an alert, notify contacts everywhere, and post to multiple social media platforms with just a few clicks.
Pain Point #2
Some users have pets that don’t get "lost" per se, but often wander, leaving them unsure whether to search or sound the alarm.
Key Solution
Before sounding the alarm that alerts all emergency contacts, Plan B helps users troubleshoot possible solutions based on their pet's natural habits and prior incidents.

Pain Point #3
Some users desire a pet community and want to connect with other owners, believing it truly takes a village to raise fur babies.
Key Solution
The community page enables users make new friends while keeping your neighborhood pets safe.
You can track missing animals and easily stay in touch with the local Heroes who helped you find yours.

Pain Point #4
Some users feel a strong sense of longing to help locate lost pets and stray animals, without fear of accidentally causing more harm than good.
Key Solution
Users can report and photograph lost pets and possible strays, not visible on the app's map

Takeaways
Through a comprehensive literature review and competitor analysis, I uncovered a critical gap in the market: current solutions are entirely reactive. Existing apps focus heavily on reporting a pet after it goes missing, rather than equipping users with preventative care strategies or actionable contingency plans

Takeaways
Across two rounds of in-depth user interviews, a striking emotional pain point emerged: despite a crowded market of pet-related apps, users reported feeling profoundly isolated during the crisis of a lost pet.
The qualitative data revealed that existing solutions consistently failed users when they needed them most. Specifically, users expressed frustration with platforms that lacked community-driven support networks, seamless technological compatibility, and the goal-oriented workflows necessary to actively guide them through the recovery process.

Takeaways
Testing proved that users require structured cognitive support both proactively and during an active crisis. It also highlighted an unaddressed need among secondary users (friends and family) who want to help but lack direction. This data solidified our three core design pillars

Achieved an 88% task success rate among secondary users (non-pet owners) navigating the platform for the first time, validating Heroism features and happy paths.
Reduced the time-on-task for initiating a lost-pet workflow by 55%, dropping the average completion time to under 85 seconds
