Product Brief: Loop is an enterprise UX application designed for B2B subscription and pay-per-use management. To handle dynamic billing operations, the platform utilizes AI to actively manage and predict pay-per-use costs. Corporations are offered plenty of comparative cost expenditures and detailed graphs to visualize their spending. All of these insights can be accessed directly through the platform's streamlined interface, no manual calculations or external spreadsheets needed.
Secondary Functions: Additionally, the application serves as an employee utilization tracker to monitor software engagement. This allows corporations to easily identify whether certain tools are being heavily used or underutilized across their organization.
Project Origins: Operating as an independent creative, I served as the sole UX researcher and designer for this platform. I developed this project specifically to showcase my comprehensive skills and capabilities in Enterprise UX.

Why does the UI matter?
Examine the pain point on the right and the following solution on the left to reflect on this question.
Pain Point #1
Spending metrics remain trapped inside individual vendor dashboards, making it nearly impossible to evaluate costs side-by-side or analyze historic trends across departments.
Key Solution
From the home dashboard, corporations can comparatively view subscription and pay-per-use costs. Color-coded indicators, track shifts amongst monthly averages.

Pain Point #2
To get a complete picture of monthly spend, users have to log into dozens of individual vendor portals, and are bombarded by contrasting data visuals
Key Solution
Loop centralizes all expenditures in one place and prioritizes presenting data in digestible visuals—relying on clear line charts and double bar graphs so users may easily gain familiarity.

Pain Point #3
Legacy FinOps platforms and native cloud cost tools often force users to set up custom tags, write SQL queries, or navigate deeply nested sub-menus just to generate a basic report, making the UX it all too complicated.
Key Solution
The UX of Loop gives users a lot of control and flexibility, allowing them to look up monthly views for various departments across widgets using simple hover and search actions

Pain Point #4
Traditional accounting tools and ERPs (like NetSuite or SAP) only capture pay-per-use expenses after invoices are generated, approved, and processed through Accounts Payable.
Key Solution
Loop uses AI to predict pay-per-use spending spikes and offers recommendations to help companies allocate their budgets, such as staggering marketing campaigns and engineering sprint timelines

How do I know what my users need?
Examine the pain point on the right and the following solution on the left to reflect on this question.
Methods Used: Academic Research, Online Ethnography
Takeaways
Here I discovered the immense difficulty companies face when managing subscriptions and pay-per-use costs, which consistently leads to wasted money. Without knowing which tools are actually irrelevant to a worker's day-to-day workflow, being locked into a rigid subscription can feel like a prison sentence. Furthermore, corporations often lack visibility into which pay-per-use tools employees must rely on more heavily during specific production periods, such as AWS usage spiking during engineering sprints or critical deadlines.
Preliminary Process
Methods Used: 2 interview rounds (5 participants per round), Persona Development
Takeaways
Interviews show widespread frustration with current billing tools. Users are highly skilled and capable of managing complex data, but they simply lack the hours to make clumsy manual tracking systems work.
At the same time, team leads are exhausted by sudden budget overruns but deeply dislike the friction of policing their colleagues or playing a nagging parent. Across the board, teams feel bogged down by chaotic workflows. They want automated software that handles the heavy lifting and acts as the bad guy to enforce budget boundaries.
Interviews & Persona Decvelopment
Examine personas, Faye and Jerry to discover important user perspectives that shaped the product.

Persona #2 "The Oops a Daisy"

Methods Used: Persona Scenarios, Wire Frames, Usability Testing (Timed Tasks, Navigation Tests), Low, Mid and
High Fi Prototyping.
Takeaways
Testing proved that corporations require structured financial guardrails both proactively and during an active billing crisis. It also highlighted an unaddressed need among secondary users (direct reports and engineering teams) who want to stay within budget limits but lack real-time visibility. This data solidified our three core design pillars:
Predictability: Equipping teams with cost transparency before a budget overrun happens.
Intervention: Directing focus and stopping the financial bleeding during a spending spike.
Governance: Providing automated boundaries and workflows to enforce accountability without managerial friction.
User Testing & Prototyping
Usability test questionnaire showed a 35% reduction in time spent identifying cost anomalies, proving that automated dashboards successfully eliminated manual data deep-dives.
Final testing achieved a 87% task success rate for identifying active spending anomalies, with testers noting the dashboard made cost spikes impossible to miss.
User satisfaction scores regarding budget tracking increased by 38%, with testers reporting they felt significantly less anxiety about checking daily infrastructure spend.
